Do I need special software to view the program?

No.  The CDs are executable upon insertion into your computer’s CD drive.  To view the various PDF documents included throughout the course you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader.  If this program is not already installed on your system, a copy of Acrobat Reader 5.0 is available on each of the CDs in the series.  You can also download Acrobat Reader free from Adobe’s Web site at www.adobe.com.

What are the minimum system requirements?

Since the program plays directly from your CD drive, the program requires no hard drive space on your computer.  Here are the minimum system requirements to run the software.

  • A personal computer (PC) with a 486 or higher processor (not available for Macintosh)

  • Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, NT or XP

  • CD-ROM

  • 8 Megabytes of RAM

  • VGA or higher-resolution video adaptor

  • Microsoft or compatible mouse

  • Sound Board and Speakers

  • Printer

How long will it take me to complete the course?

The "run time" shown for each session is based on the time it takes to play the narration.  It generally does not include the time you may spend viewing and printing various documents and/or visiting Web resource links related to the topics.  So, while the run time to listen to the entire program is around 11 hours, you are likely to spend another three to five hours or more with these other program-related activities.  You'll also want to review many of the sessions more than once.  There's a lot to absorb and you're likely going to want to invest one to two hours every day over two or three weeks.

Can I purchase selected portions of the course?

Yes, although the course is meant to be taken in its entirety, you can select individual CDs and purchase additional CDs at a later date.  However, there is a substantial saving if you purchase the entire course at one time.  Click here to view pricing information.

I am already in the cleaning business.  What benefit will the Getting Started RIGHT portion of the course be to me?

Can I print copies of the sample forms, advertising, handbooks, confidentiality agreement and other PDF documents?

Yes, that’s exactly why we’ve included them.  You can use the materials as is, or use them as a model to create your own.  These materials include: sample help wanted ads and recruiting brochure; an employee handbook; safety program handbook; supplementary 60-page training handbook; sample sales brochures and flyers; newspaper and Yellow Page ads; several dozen forms; and a host of other printable materials.  A list of all of these materials can be found at the end of each Session Outline in the Course Outline.  You may also purchase most  of  these documents in MS Word format so that you can customize them,  either individually or  as a collection.  Click here to view these customizable  documents.

Are there any additional fees or costs once I purchase the program?

No, none at all.  At least not to us.  Obviously, you will have expenses connected with starting and/or operating your business.  But this is not a franchise or business opportunity offering.  You have no further obligations to us other than paying the tuition cost of the course itself.

How much will it cost me to start my own house cleaning business?

The answer to this question depends on several factors:  Whether you will be operating from your home or a commercial office; whether or not you intend to provide company vehicles to your employees; how aggressively you plan to grow your business; and a variety of other factors.  If you plan to operate a “real” business you will be incurring real expenses, too.  Your major initial start up expenses will be for cleaning equipment, supplies and materials; general liability and workers’ compensation insurance; advertising to attract clients and employees; and, wages for your employees.  It is likely to require an investment in the range of $10,000 to $20,000 – many people start for less, but growth is slow and painful if your business is under capitalized.  There are not too many businesses that can be launched with an investment of less than $50,000 — particularly one with the potential of a well-run house cleaning business.
